Leaving Barcelona, I had put it in my mind to keep my expectations low for future cities in Spain.
I arrived in Valencia via train. The train station architecture was gorgeous. I arrived to my Airbnb and OMG what a beauty. I walked in and said to myself, "Self, what is the cost of this place, I'm ready to move in". The Airbnb host greeted me, via text message, asked if she could make a reservation for me at a really nice restaurant, as she had asked the day before what kind of food I was in to. Of course, I took her up on the offer and so glad that I did. The venue, the staff, and the food all were AMAZING!
Next up, rest. I hadn't slept in a week. I was becoming anxious, sad and desperate for change... So I did what all tourist do, hoping to connect with the culture and meet some like minded people, I booked a wine tour. One of the best tours I've ever been on. The four hour scheduled tour lasted 5 hours, but felt like a night with friends. The Brazilian guide knew her stuff and was so personable. I met some people from Florida and exchanged numbers with a sweet young couple from England.
Time for some self love, I went online, scheduled an appointment to get my nails done, an experience that started out not so good, turned into a job offer, Although I did all the things right, when I arrived, I was told that the online booking system isn't actually up and running and that they might not be able to see me. Lucky for me, a tall, dark and handsome man walked in that spoke both Spanish and English to help us navigate the situation. Thirty minutes later, I was sitting with these nice ladies, getting my pedicure. The owner arrived, apologized profusely and at the end of the conversation, she offered me a job "Nail Salon in need of an Experienced Massage Therapist". BAM! potential opportunity for the future. Look at me making connections.
Valencia made me happy! I'll be back!
Just a few photos to share from my time in Valencia.
This is a very small doll house that I took a close up picture of.
